Artesana

Label Explorers

Label Explorers – An Educational Journey by Artesana

We are the Milk Artisans, devoted to purity and simplicity. At Artesana, we craft our dairy products from the purest Romanian milk – whole, non-homogenized, and minimally processed, collected from trusted local farms. Nothing extra goes in, and nothing is taken out. Pasteurized gently and packaged in eco-friendly glass, our milk, yogurt, cream, and cheese preserve the authentic taste of nature while supporting a healthy lifestyle.

The “Label Explorers” program was born from this same philosophy — a commitment to transparency, responsibility, and education.

How it started
The idea took shape after the opening of our new factory in Tecuci, designed with a glass viewing corridor where visitors can see how our products are made. Inspired by this transparency, founders Alina and Daniel Donici wanted to extend the experience to children – to help them understand what’s behind the labels on the food they eat.

Launched in October 2023, the program brings Artesana teams directly into schools and kindergartens to teach kids how to read food labels, make informed choices, and understand the value of recycling, sustainability, and clean ingredients.

How it’s going
What began as a small, local initiative in Bucharest has grown into a nationwide educational project. Every week, Artesana colleagues visit schools and kindergartens across Romania.

Between October 2023 and November 2025, over 23,300 children from 138 schools and kindergartens in 19 cities have joined the journey – discovering why shorter ingredient lists are better, how packaging can be recycled, and why what we put on our plates truly matters.

An unexpected journey
We never imagined such an extraordinary response. The program’s success has shown us that curiosity, met with honesty and authenticity, can spark real change – starting with the youngest generation.

Proudly part of the change
Just like our minimally processed dairy products, the Label Explorers program is about staying true to nature and simplicity. We’re proud and deeply grateful to play a small but meaningful role in changing Romania for the better — one child, one classroom, and one glass of milk at a time.

Enten Systems

Empowering Food Systems to Feed the World

The project “Empowering Food Systems to Feed the World” is Enten’s strategic quest to make a truly meaningful difference at the intersection of the most compelling global imperatives: food security, climate change and the urgent need for short, resilient and sustainable supply chains.

Our current solution is a market-validated Data-as-a-Service platform (“AgriSense from seed to shelf”) that resolves the critical lack of granular, actionable data in agriculture by pioneering a powerful combination of technology and agronomic science:

1. Data collection: We deploy state-of-the-art, proprietary remote-sensing equipment to collect microclimate data and smart crop images. In particular, our technology captures high-quality, critical plant and soil data that is mostly invisible to standard satellites and drones (e.g. subsurface moisture levels, localized microclimate, detailed plant physiological responses), creating a unique competitive advantage.
2. Data processing and enrichment: We developed an advanced analytics and decision-making platform, powered by sophisticated algorithms and assisted by an internal team of agronomic experts, as a basis for data-driven actionable insights.

Our revolutionary step involves actively correlating this proprietary data with hourly smart crop images. This process is training machine learning models to establish the foundation for the “Plant-as-Sensor” breakthrough, where the plants themselves will eventually become synthetic sensors.

Enten DaaS model builds a crop’s complete digital footprint, providing 24/7 online decision-making support to farmers, mitigating risks and optimizing crop development. Crucially, it delivers data, predictability, transparency and business intelligence to multiple other stakeholders—from food retailers and processors to microfinance institutions—enhancing productivity, reducing costs and increasing sustainability across the entire food value chain.

While our DaaS model is highly effective, the high dependency on proprietary hardware limits global scaling due to large capital expenditures. Therefore, to achieve global reach and to scale the sustainability impact exponentially, we are actively implementing the next phase of our project: transitioning towards a hardware-agnostic approach.

Building on the AI models currently being trained, we are advancing the platform to integrate any and all IPTV/CCTV camera image/video flows. This will allow us to deploy the full “Plant-as-Sensor” capability globally and cost-effectively, democratizing access to precision agriculture for farmers everywhere and positioning Enten as an impactful, transformative force in food value systems.

TRANSAVIA, Romania’s largest poultry producer with 100% Romanian capital, has implemented one of the most ambitious sustainability programs in the country’s agri-food sector. Alongside the €35+ million investment in renewable energy, including photovoltaic installations, cogeneration unit, and energy efficiency systems, the company has the most modern protein meal factory in Romania. This facility enables 100% recycling of all byproducts generated throughout the production chain, from incubation to slaughter, including eggshells, organs, feathers, and blood. These materials are separately collected, sterilized, and processed into high-value protein meals and fats that are valorized as animal feed ingredients or organic fertilizer, creating a closed-loop, zero-waste production model. Combined with TRANSAVIA’s “Zero Loss Policy,” which includes the sludge resulting from the treatment of process water in company-owned waste-water treatment plants and the reuse of poultry litter as organic fertilizer on its own crop farms, this approach drastically reduces waste, replaces chemical fertilizers, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions, while generating additional revenue and cutting costs.
